Our Puppy Raising Curriculum
Our puppy-raising curriculum and socialization has evolved over the last few years and will continue to as we learn, grow, experience, and develop better ways of raising and shaping our puppies. Click the link above or here to read more about how we raise our puppies. The page explains the care and socialization we provide for our puppies, as well as the exposure and skills we impart to them. It includes ENS (early neurological stimulation), ESI (early scent introduction), info on car, cat, and children exposure, crate training, confidence building, proper socialization, and more. Every single puppy leaves us unconditionally loved, set up with the mental and emotional skills to take on a full and rewarding life with their new family.
About us and our collies
All of our border collies are a part of our family, with the addition of a couple in guardian homes. They are indoor dogs raised in a busy, loving family environment. We enjoy daily runs, walks, and park trips. We spend our summers (and some winters!) camping in the great outdoors of Aotearoa where the collies enjoy swimming in New Zealand’s beautiful, clear rivers and beaches. Our dogs come from a variety of backgrounds, primarily family pets and agility/dog sports. We aim to produce well-rounded border collies with predictable personality traits, aiming for the perfect family dog with just the right amount of work ethic for dog sports, agility, and adventures, and couch-potato chill for those lazy weekends and quiet days. We also use outside studs, namely from Cliffhanger Kennels, as we love working with Chelsea Marriner and her wonderful dogs. She and her dogs have competed in agility, qualifying up to champion and grand champion levels in Agility, Flygility, and Jumpers as well as Companion Dog Excellent.
Our breeding dogs are health tested to the same standards as DogsNZ registered breeders. DNA tested - including CEA, TNS, NCL - PennHIP scored and eye tested.
