What health testing do we do?

We uphold ourselves to the highest health standards and follow the same health testing as DogsNZ (formerly NZ Kennel Club) registered breeders. You can read more about what tests Border Collies are required to have from DogsNZ here. Aside from annual vet checks, flea and worming and yearly vaccinations (DHPP, Canine/Kennel Cough, Leptospirosis), we also do the following for all our breeding dogs:

• Full DNA profile by either Orivet or Infogen

  • including CEA, NCL, TNS, MDR1

• PennHIP scoring for Hip Dysplasia and osteoarthritis - example of Blueys PennHIP results below ->

• ab Eye certification including Gonioscopy

We see our fantastic reproductive vet Dr. Becky Murphy at TCI VET in Fielding for all our reproductive health testing and needs.
